Cruises Employment Opportunities

To become a member of the casino staff on cruise ships, applicants must have most of the same qualifications as they would for land-based casino jobs. For management and inspection positions, most cruise ships prefer an associate degree or higher in a technical field, research, legal/law, finance, hotel management or accommodations, or other related field. Applicants must also have excellent reporting skills, excellent computer skills, and investigative and analytical skills.

For dealers, you must have experience working in a land or sea-based casino and an associates degree may be useful, For slot technicians, you must have extensive experience with installing and repairing slot machines and you must have a certificate or technical degree in a mechanical or electrical field. Cashiers must have accounting, and cash-handling experience, preferably in a casino or similar environment. Customer service experience is useful as well.

All casino applicants must also be 21 years of age, speak fluent English, have a clean criminal background, meaning, no felony convictions, and they must pass a drug test. Identification is required as well and the only acceptable forms of identification are a passport or driver's license.
